Scarlet Ryals is originally from Memphis, TN. She has studied dance for over 30 years and credits her success to continuing education in all areas of the dance industry. She is proficiently trained in jazz, tap, hip hop and gymnastics with a concentration in classical ballet, contemporary, and lyrical. She received her formal dance teacher training at Ballet Memphis where she taught for 7 years before opening the Mid-Souths only pre professional dance company, Essentials Dance Company. Established in 2001, she has owned and operated EDC for 15 years. Her students have received hundreds of awards and scholarships on both the regional and national levels. Scarlet's achievements as a choreographer have been recognized at the most prestigious dance competitions and conventions, winning top choreography awards regionally and nationally. Her cutting edge, insightful, thought provoking contemporary choreography, fun jazz and musical theater pieces with crisp lines, and high scoring gymnastic floor routines are sought out nationwide. Scarlet also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and is a judge for the Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Contest, Fire and Ice National Talent Competition, In10sity dance, as well as Triumph National Talent Competition.
Sarah McCall is from Memphis, Tennessee where she has been studying dance for 23 years. She trained under Scarlet Ryals for the past 18 years, under whom she also received her formal dance teacher training. Her teaching style is thorough and consistent and she believes that no student should be left behind. Her achievements as a dancer are astounding. She was a leading competitor in dance both regionally and nationally. Her credits include top soloists, a multitude of scholarships from the industry's leading professionals in dance competitions and conventions, as well as the prestigious $5,000 college scholarship from Harlequin. Her students have been recognized with top scores regionally and nationally for their technique, precision, and showmanship. She is dedicated to the Essentials mission: Every student has the opportunity to reach his or her greatest potential as a dancer and person through our program. Sarah graduated from X-Ray school in 2013 and works tirelessly to be the best she can be in both fields. Sarah is also a judge for the Mid-South fair youth talent competition.

Kailey Pennington is currently the Top regional and National Soloist of 2016. Kailey is an exceptional technician and has a excellent eye for detail. Kailey's teaching style is nurturing and precise. She connects well with children of all ages and loves sharing her passion for dance. She is a natural born leader with exceptional organizational skills and classroom management. She is passionate about many things but at the top of the list are dance, proper training and execution, and children. She has found the perfect combination of those passions as a dance instructor.
Delaney Keck has soared at the top of her game in both competitive dance and gymnastics since she began training 12 years ago. She is a home schooled athlete who devotes all of her time outside of church, school, and family to training. Delaney is an old soul and has been teacher training under the direction of Scarlet Ryals for the last 5 years. She knows the EDC curriculum inside and out and expresses her instructions through repetition, precise explanation, and her fun loving and caring personality. She believes in hard work, dedication, and determination as she sees how far these attributes have gotten her in her career. She passes on these wonderful qualities to her students as she dances and tumbles full out with every class. Her list of accomplishments is astounding and includes top 3 at level 9 gymnastics easterns and top 6 at level 10 nationals where she had the prestigious honor of having a skill named after her. She is also a two time National Dance Top Soloist and has received at least 25 top regional soloists awards. Delaney couldn't be more excited to be a part of passing on her passion to the next generation.
