Scarlet Ryals is originally from Memphis, TN. She has studied dance and competed both regionally and nationally for over 20 years. She is proficiently trained in jazz, tap, hip hop and gymnastics with a concentration in classical ballet and contemporary lyrical. She received her formal dance teacher training at Ballet Memphis where she taught for 7 years. Her students have received hundreds of awards and scholarships on the regional and national levels. She has worked with and studied under Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Emily Shock, and numerous other master teachers. Scarlet's acheivements as a choregrapher have been recognized at the most prestigous dance competitions and conventions, winning top choregraphy awards regionally and nationally. Scarlet also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and is a judge for the Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Contest.
Sarah McCall is from Memphis, Tennessee where she has been studying dance for 16 years. She has been studying all styles of dance with Scarlet Ryals for the past 12 years, under whom she also received her formal dance teacher training. Sarah is great with children from her many years of experience in our apprentice program as well as her experience working with children through programs in her church. Her teaching style is thorough and consistent and she believes that no student should be left behind. Her achievements as a dancer are astounding. She is a leading competitor in dance both regionally and nationally. Her credits include top soloists, a multitude of scholarships from the industry's leading professionals in dance competitions and conventions, as well as the prestigious $5,000 college scholarship from Harlequin. Her students have been recognized with top scores regionally and nationally for their technique, precision, and showmanship. She is dedicated to the Essentials mission: Every student has the opportunity to reach his or her greatest potential as a dancer and person through our program.

Monica Wilson is from Memphis, TN. Monica’s dance training began at 7 years old and continued throughout her teen years when she danced alongside Miss Scarlet, competing on both the regional and national level for over ten years. She graduated from St. Mary’s Episcopal School and attended Vanderbilt University, where she was a member of the Vanderbilt Football and Basketball Danceline. Monica received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English for Corporate Communications Management from Christian Brothers University. She enjoys working with children, and is excited to be a part of the Essentials Dance Company staff!
